It’s only a few more days to the Automic World Conference, and I’m looking forward to Berlin; two days of great presentations and the AE Database Refresher Workshop to follow right afterwards.
The complete Conference Agenda is now online, and I have to say there is much that appeals to me:
Great presentations and guests, an extremely posh conference venue directly on the Spree River, and a nice social program.
I will also be present again with a presentation, and have chosen an often neglected but very useful subject.
My Own Presentation: Automation Guidelines
I will make my presentation on Tuesday (May 31) – twice: at 11:15 a.m. in English, and at 11:50 a.m. in German.
I don’t want to reveal too much about my presentation here; after all, I don’t want to spoil your fun. For now, I’ll just say: among other things, it will be about guidelines, reusable objects and the corporate identity of your cakes.
Curious? Then just stop by and listen to it.
For all of you who cannot make it to the conference, I will deal with those subjects again here in one of the next articles.
These Presentations I will attend for sure
Making a choice is not easy this year, but a few presentations I will attend for sure.
- Product Roadmap – Gwyn Clay
Sure. After all, we can’t wait to find out what is going to happen with Automic in the next months and years, especially in view of the announced new version this summer. - Demo Automic Web Interface – David Ainsworth/Robert Schausberger
In 2014, Automic decided to completely redesign the user interface and to replace the Java Client (also known as Rich Client) with the ECC or AWI (Automic Web Interface). For this huge project Automic called on international assistance: the Indian IT service provider Nagarro. The Enterprise Control Center (the current version of the AWI) can already be used, but it does not nearly cover all of the Rich Client functions.
The new version of AE will be launched this summer, at which time the AWI will already replace the Rich Client. I’m quite curious about what Automic is presenting to us at the conference, and whether the AWI will really cover the entire functionality. - Preview V12 Analytics and Reporting – Peter Schausberger
In the new Version 12, reporting will (finally) be a free additional feature for the core engine. Actually, I ought to be mad at this, since fewer clients will need an SQL solution. However, I am much too happy that this long overdue function will be available soon. - Automic Web Interface Dashboard – Daniel Braaf
Daniel’s presentations are simply not to be missed. His application examples for the ECC (or AWI) have always been inspiring. We’ll see what he has to say this year about the dashboards. - Client presentations: TEB Turkey & Dogus Teknoloji
I always find it fascinating how companies use the Automation Engine. That’s why I always attend client presentations, and I gain a view of what’s on clients’ minds and how they use Automic. I have made firm plans for the presentations by TEB Turkey and Dogus Teknoloji. Unfortunately, I’ll have to miss the Adidas presentation because it is scheduled at the same time as my own talk.
Will we see you on Monday?
Of course, between presentations I don’t want to miss the opportunity to chat with as many Automic users and experts as possible. I hope to see you during breaks, during evening events, or even at the Run Club on Tuesday morning – in case I’m going to be sufficiently fit so early in the morning.
